On a cold November afternoon in 1985, founders Tim Paegelow, Tom Farley and Pat Connolly solidified their idea of offering a venue for traditional music to prosper here in Mt. Morris, by creating the Black Hawk Folk Society (BHFS). Not too long after, this group became a 501(c)3 organization. Since then, dedicated BHFS volunteers have continued to bring live professional folk music to central Wisconsin with concerts EVERY MONTH! Over one hundred performers have shared their songs, stories and talent with us over these 30+ years and we hope to keep enjoying these good vibes with you decades into the future.

We'd love to see you at our events! Monthly concerts are usually held on the second Saturday of the month, starting at 7:00 PM October-April. (See the Calendar for upcoming concerts.) Adult admission is $10; kids 18 and under free. Concerts are presented at the Mountain View Community Center from October-November and March-April, with December, January, and February concerts online. Our May-September concerts are held at 2:00 PM at the bandshell in beautiful Mt. Morris Town Park (inclement weather site: Mountain View Community Center), with our full-day Black Hawk Folk Festival held the second Saturday of July.
