The Black Hawk Folk Society is looking for passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Council. Our monthly concerts in Mt. Morris have become a beloved tradition for the past 40 years, offering high-quality musical experiences in a welcoming and intimate setting.
Serving on the council is a great way to support the arts, connect with fellow music lovers, and help shape the future of live folk music in our region. Council members contribute by helping with hospitality, technical needs (running sound), promotion, fundraising, and guiding the direction of our programming. No special experience is required — just a love for music, a commitment to community, and a few hours of your time each month.
Whether you’re a longtime concertgoer or new to the area, your voice and energy can make a difference. Join us in keeping this vibrant musical tradition alive and thriving for years to come.
If you’re interested or want to learn more, please join us at our Annual Meeting on October 11 at 6:30 PM prior to our Second Saturday concert. You can also contact any one of our current council members for more information; we're very friendly!
Let’s make music together— on stage and behind the scenes!
